Speaking the plain truth.

So, after getting a rub from a friend on Face Book about the state of the union address by our Favorite Uncle (Obama), I realized that we are a nation that is on the brink of failure.

There is a majorly vocal minority, that seems to be loud enough in EVERYTHING, that almost cancels out all the work of the non-vocal majority. The ones that complain and don't do anything, are getting heard, while those of us that don't complain, and work hard at changing things are fighting a losing battle. At least it feels like it.

It seems like when the PRESIDENT OF THE USA (caps added for dramatics) wants to say something, we all have to STOP, listen, and applaud. But, if there is someone who needs to point out something that affects the greater majority of the people adversely who stands up and speaks plainly, he is heralded as a kook, or a trouble maker.

The problem, as I see it (in my INFINITE WISDOM, of course....), is that we who are the majority, are almost afraid to speak up for fear of being ridiculed, or shamed.

We should be ashamed for NOT being willing to stand up.

You don't have to be a major public speaker to make a point. You just have to speak. You don't have to stand up in front of a large group of people to be heard. If you speak the truth, and share it with others, will it not speak for itself? Don't you think that it will be capable of being heard anyway? That's what it takes.

So, if I'm labeled as a trouble maker, it wouldn't be the first time. I don't have a problem speaking the truth. I used to, though. I thought it was better to lie about something to "spare someone's feelings", rather than tell it truthfully. And as we all know, that blows up in your face.

I'm not one of those guys on CNN, or the other cable networks who get paid to be obnoxious asses, and make a point of being so, when they speak. And then they call it the "truth". Yes, they can back up their points with facts and figures. But when you are an obnoxious ass about it, is anyone really taking you seriously? Thanks Glen Beck, Bill Reilly, and the like. And Rush Limbaugh, just shut up!!

I'm just saying that if you walk and speak quietly, you carry a bigger stick than if you are a screaming, whining, baby. You get a lot more respect when you can talk with others with respect, because you have made the first move. Then, when the others come back at you with their diatribes, you can simply listen, and let them hang themselves.

There are a number of things that are just hard for me to understand.... Not the least of which is this: Why would you PARK in a FIRE LANE?!?!?!? I mean, are you that stupid that you can't figure out there are many reasons NOT to park there? Like, just for instance... IT'S A FIRE LANE, DIPSHIT!! Not to mention, if you park there, and there IS a fire in the building, guess which vehicle gets smashed, and the moved? And then, imagine trying to explain that to the insurance company......
You: "ummm.... my car got smashed up."
Ins. Agent: "Wow, sorry! Did you get in an accident?"
You: "ummmm.... no..... I was parked in a fire lane, and the firemen had to get it out of the way."
Ins. Agent: ".......... Oh. Well, sorry, that's not covered. You broke the law, and now you have to pay for that. And by the way, your insurance is now CANCELLED!!! Dumbass!"

I've tried to get guys to understand that it's neither funny, nor right to park there. But they don't listen, don't care, and park there anyway. I even had one guy ask me "what's it to you?" I told him, "It's guys like you that make the rest of us look like idiots, ass hole!" He just walked away.

Would you park in a handicapped zone? How about a loading/unloading zone? Or, how about, like the others, why not in a CLEARLY MARKED AREA that says NO PARKING: FIRE LANE!!

So, I've taken it upon myself to call the cops every time I go to the local Home Depot, and find more assholes parked in the fire lane. Maybe, after getting a couple of $75 tickets, they may think better of it.....

Probably not.

Some guys are just stupid.

Ignorance is when you don't have all the information.

Stupid is a choice.

Don't be stupid.

So, as we are winding down what could be the most important voting day in history, the next election after the historical election for "change". We elected a black man into what arguably is the most powerful position in the world, and he is floundering around like a dying fish. Now, the voters are deciding whether or not we should go on as before, or we should actually get some people in there who can shake up the system. I personally voted against everyone that called me to inform me how their opponent was "incompetent, a liar, and a crook". I actually voted against ALL who had the balls to interrupt my night with their incoherent babbling. I have to admit, though, I will miss the incessant bitching, back biting, slandering, and wild accusations flying around on the air waves..... I guess I'll have to actually watch the news, sports, and ads without the glitz.

Thank GOD!!!

In the beginning.....

This is an attempt at recreating my past, present, and a log of my future. I'm doing this to remember who I am, where I've been, and what I've done; good and bad. The time line is nebulouse, since I'm not great at remembering what happened when, and then I may remember things that didn't happen, or that happened differently. I'll change them as that is discovered. This is a record of me for the posterity of my future grandkids. Hopefully it will be informative, and not condemning.
